Description
The Savena valley is a characteristic river area of the upper Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. Here, ancient water mills actively worked for the milling of wheat and for the grinding of dried chestnuts and other local products. The production of flour up to fifty years ago was an essential element for the local economy. This very suggestive and fascinating loop itinerary connects all the most characteristic mills, some of which are still well preserved and in operation.
