Description
The upper Idice valley was an area of copper extraction between 1600 and 1900. The Monte Gurlano mine, today within the “La Martina” Natural Park, is clear testimony to this. The tunnel is no longer accessible but as you get closer, you can see the entrance and the approximately 55 meter deep tunnel that sinks into the mountain. This itinerary will make you discover the most hidden and extremely fascinating side of this corner of the Bolognese Apennines. Along the beautiful paths of the park, we will also find small bodies of water where, with a bit of luck, we will also be able to see the cute spotted newts. The route is very varied and in some sections technical, suitable for bikers with good downhill riding skills and a great desire to test themselves.
Note: route, distance and difference in altitude may be subject to change based on the Guide’s assessments of the weather conditions, the state of the terrain, the technical abilities and physical conditions of the participants, in order to always guarantee the group’s enjoyment in total safety.
